Can't find a preceptor for your Bradley practicum

Why Bradley searches stall

• Setting mismatch. The catalog ties every practicum to a kind of practice, whether an outpatient office, an acute care unit, a psychiatric service or, for NUR 687, a narrower psychiatric niche. A willing preceptor in the wrong kind of practice cannot fill the course.
• Late asks. A busy NP approached a few weeks before the DocuSign packet is due has little room to agree, collect documents and sign.
• Hidden paperwork. A facility with its own affiliation agreement, or a system with its own student application, adds weeks before anyone can say yes.
• Thin markets. Rural areas and small towns have fewer NPs, so every refusal costs more of your remaining list.
• Rule conflicts. A physician assistant, a clinical nurse specialist or a relative may be happy to help, yet none fits Bradley's published preceptor rules.

Most stuck students face two or three of these at once. Knowing which ones apply tells you whether to change who you ask, when you ask, or where you look.

3. Use professional directoriesMember networks such as Sigma Theta Tau, and the provider lookups the ANCC and AANP run, came up in that same 2017 session.
4. Look one setting sidewaysFNP students could once place up to 100 hours with specialists, a dermatology or cardiology office for instance; that is the 2017 figure, and your packet has today's. NUR 407 students can use school nursing, health departments, occupational health or long-term care.
5. Ask with a one-page summaryList the course, hours, dates, the documents Bradley needs (license, CV, malpractice coverage) and what the preceptor signs. A clear ask gets a faster answer.
