Contact the placement desk

Three details are enough to begin: your Bradley University track, the practicum course you take next and the city you call home. From there a placement advisor answers with a plan shaped around Bradley's own steps, and every extra detail you add shortens the road to preceptors who suit the course and its packet date.

Message the placement desk

Your track, city and next NUR course are enough to start. Add anything else in the message box.

What to send us

Keep it brief if you like. Each item below saves a round of questions and points the search at the right kind of practice from the first call.

  • Your track and entry point: for example the MSN FNP with BSN entry, the PMHNP certificate or the DNP in Nursing Leadership.
  • Your next clinical course and term: such as NUR 676 in spring or NUR 685 in summer, plus any later courses you want planned.
  • Where you live and where you are licensed: your city, the approved state on your Bradley record, and each state where you hold an active RN license.
  • Preceptors you named at application: anyone you listed or have already asked, and where each conversation stands.
  • Hours so far: if a course is already running, the hours logged in Typhon and the hours still to go.
  • Your schedule: the days you can give to clinicals around your job.
  • Your deadline: the midterm date for your DocuSign packet, if you have it from MyOnline.

What happens after you send the form

  1. Your message reaches the placement deskA placement advisor reads it and replies by email, call or text.
  2. A short intake conversationWe confirm your course, your approved state, your license and the setting the course calls for: primary care, acute care, mental health or a leadership role.
  3. The searchWe approach practices close to home whose providers and patients suit the course, and find out early whether a site runs its own student process.
  4. The packet detailsOnce a preceptor agrees, we gather the license, CV, malpractice coverage, site address and course details the DocuSign packet asks for, so what reaches Bradley is complete.
  5. Bradley's approvalThe packet goes to Bradley through DocuSign. Bradley reviews and approves the preceptor and facility and handles the agency agreement.
  6. We stay on callWe keep in touch through the course, and if a preceptor drops out, we move straight to a replacement.

How the placement desk works with a Bradley student

Bradley puts the choice of preceptor in your hands; its online pages invite you to choose your preceptors and complete clinicals locally. The placement desk works inside that model. You remain the student of record, Bradley approves every preceptor and facility, and we do the searching, the asking and the document gathering that turn your choice into an approved placement.

We plan by course sequence, not week by week. A Bradley FNP student moves through four practicums from NUR 676 to NUR 679, with the October FNP Bootcamp in Peoria before the last one, and PMHNP, AG and leadership students have sequences of their own. We line up the next preceptor while the current course runs, so each packet is ready before midterm of the semester before.

The how it works page describes the service end to end, and cost explains the factors behind each quote.

If your deadline is close

Short timelines are workable when we hear about them early. When Bradley's packet date is near, mention it up front and we begin with preceptors able to sign quickly. When a preceptor has just left mid-course, include your logged and remaining hours so we can target someone able to cover the weeks still ahead of you.

Two pages may help while you wait for our reply: need a preceptor fast and preceptor dropped out.

Preceptors and practices

Nurse practitioners, physicians and practice managers who would host a Bradley student can use the same form: pick the preceptor option at the foot of the program menu, then describe your specialty, where you practice and which days suit a learner. Our page for preceptors explains what Bradley asks of a preceptor and how the packet works. Bradley approves every preceptor, and we introduce you only to students whose course fits your practice.

Questions Bradley students ask

Should I line up a preceptor before writing to you?

No. You can write before you have anyone lined up. If you listed potential preceptors on your Bradley application, include them anyway, since we can start by checking whether those contacts are still available and fit the course you are taking next.

Can I contact you before Bradley admits me?

Yes. Bradley's NP and DNP applications ask you to name potential preceptors or practice mentors, so planning early helps. Tell us the track you are applying to and your city, and we can talk through the clinical settings your future courses will call for.

Do you help Bradley students outside Illinois?

Yes. The search runs in the approved state on your Bradley record, one in which your RN license is active. Bradley's state table shows which tracks meet requirements in each state, and our state disclosures guide walks through it before you send your details.

What does the service cost?

Every quote depends on your track, your course, your location and your timing. The cost page explains what shapes it. Ask in your message and a placement advisor will walk you through the options for your situation. A quote carries no commitment.

How will you get back to me?

Through whichever channel you choose on the form: email, a phone call or a text. If one suits you best, note it in the message box, and add the best times to reach you around your shifts so the first conversation happens quickly.

We check these pages against Bradley's own catalog, online program pages and Graduate Student Handbook. Your clinical packet, course faculty and academic advisor have the final word.

Bradley lets you choose your preceptors. We find the ones worth choosing.

Tell us your Bradley track, your city and your next practicum course. We line up preceptors who fit the NUR course and gather the license, CV and malpractice details the DocuSign packet asks for, well before the midterm of the semester before you start.

  • Preceptors matched to the course: primary care for FNP and AGPCNP, acute care teams for AGACNP, mental health settings for PMHNP
  • Preceptor license, CV, malpractice coverage and the site address ready for the packet
  • Every practicum in your sequence planned together, close to home in your approved state
