Bradley MSN AGPCNP: primary care practicums from adolescence to old age
Bradley University's online MSN in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP) requires 750 clinical hours under the 2026-27 catalog, all in primary care or outpatient settings, across NUR 655 and NUR 666 to NUR 668, with a skills bootcamp before the last course. Bradley's online page still describes a 600-hour version. What the AGPCNP master's covers
The primary care track prepares nurse practitioners for patients from adolescence through old age; its three management courses are titled for adolescents, adults and geriatrics. BSN holders take 47 credits. Registered nurses without a BSN take 56.5, beginning with bridge work in NUR 300, NUR 303 and NUR 404 plus NUR 407, a community practicum with 50 hours of its own.
The catalog names two certifying routes, ANCC or AANP; the online page words the second as AANPCB. The online page puts the BSN route at 2.3 years over 7 semesters and the RN route at 3 years over 9. One quirk: the bradley.edu address for the AGPCNP master's loads an empty page, so read the program on onlinedegrees.bradley.edu or in the catalog.
The primary care practicum sequence
Four courses carry the clinical hours. NUR 655 Diagnostic Reasoning is shared with the acute care track; the three primary care management courses build from 200 to 300 hours, and Bradley prints their titles with slightly different punctuation, reproduced here as written.

NUR 666 opens once the three core courses (BIO 526, NUR 600, NUR 651) are done, and each later management course requires the one before. The handbook's AGPCNP Clinical Packet and Guidelines applies to the three management courses. Shadow Health's digital standardized patients also appear in Bradley's welcome materials as a tool in the first three AG clinical courses.
Why Bradley's two AGPCNP pages give different hours
Bradley rewrote the adult-gerontology tracks in the 2026-27 catalog. The primary care option went from 600 to 750 hours: NUR 655 gained 50 practicum hours, NUR 668 rose to 300, and the program text now requires one on-site skills bootcamp. The online AGPCNP page, last refreshed in September 2026, still lists 200 hours per course, 600 in total, and says the program runs with no campus residency.
Which version governs you depends on your catalog year, recorded in the program of study in MyOnline. Ask your academic advisor, and until you have an answer, line up preceptor capacity for 750. The background is on the 750-hour change page.

Finding the right primary care preceptor
Bradley's catalog wants a qualified preceptor in a primary care or outpatient setting. In practice that means clinics where the preceptor manages adolescents, adults and older adults over time: internal medicine, adult and geriatric primary care, and family practices with a strong adult panel. Bradley's FNP students search the same offices, so the best primary care preceptors are often booked well ahead.
Bradley's most detailed public word on preceptor credentials is its June 2017 webinar: NPs and physicians were in, PAs, CNSs and CNLs were out, and NPs were to cover most of the hours. That session addressed FNP students, so treat the AGPCNP clinical packet in MyOnline as the current word. The full rule set is on preceptor requirements, and the exclusions are on who cannot precept you.
Current policy adds two firm points: the preceptor's license has to be clean and active, and no family member may serve.
The bootcamp and the final 300 hours
NUR 668 carries the heaviest load of the program and has an extra gate: the 2026-27 course description requires a completed Nurse Practitioner Skills Bootcamp first. Bradley has not said where or when the AG bootcamp runs, or whether AG students can use the FNP Bootcamp held over two October days in Peoria, which other NP specialties may attend.
Two practical steps follow. Ask your advisor about the bootcamp as soon as you enroll in NUR 666, and choose a NUR 668 preceptor whose clinic can absorb 300 hours in one course. If the bootcamp falls while you are in NUR 667, agree the missed clinic days with your preceptor in advance, since practicum hours have to fall inside the semester. Where AGPCNP students can train
Bradley's online licensure table has a "GERIATRIC - PRIMARY" column with 46 yes states. Its no states are Tennessee, California, Maryland and New Hampshire. Since a March 2025 capture of the table, nine states changed to yes in this column: Arizona, Idaho, Oregon and Washington in the West; Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska in the Plains; and Kentucky and Connecticut.
Two footnotes matter here. New York residents can enroll, but their footnote rules out clinical rotations in New York. Ohio carries an extra continuing education requirement for Ohio residents who trained in an out-of-state APRN program, although the Ohio cell in this column shows the New York mark, which looks like a typo. Read the state disclosures page for your state, and remember that you train in your approved state with an active RN license there.

Questions Bradley students ask
Can a family practice precept a Bradley AGPCNP student?
Bradley's catalog asks for primary care or outpatient settings and does not list practice types, so a family practice can fit when the preceptor sees enough adolescents, adults and older adults for the course. The course faculty member approves the preceptor, and the AGPCNP clinical packet sets the detailed rules, so check both before you commit.
Does the AGPCNP include pediatric or women's health rotations?
The course titles name adolescents, adults and geriatrics, and the catalog places the hours in primary care or outpatient settings. The women's health and infant-to-adolescent content in Bradley's catalog sits in the FNP course NUR 678. Your AGPCNP clinical packet spells out the patient types each of your courses expects.
Can one preceptor cover more than one AGPCNP course?
Bradley has no current public limit. The 2017 webinar let students return to the same preceptor twice; for the repeat, just the short initial preceptor form went back in, along with fresh copies of any lapsed document. If the rule has changed since, the AGPCNP clinical packet will say so, so read it before pairing two courses with one preceptor.
Can I take the AGPCNP if I live in California, Maryland, New Hampshire or Tennessee?
Bradley's state table marks the primary care track as not meeting licensure education requirements in those four states, and it does not say whether Bradley admits residents there. Speak with Bradley's admissions team before you apply. The FNP column reads yes for California, with a controlled substances footnote, and for Maryland and New Hampshire; Tennessee is no for every NP track.
What if my primary care preceptor leaves partway through a course?
Bradley's public documents describe no replacement process, so tell your course faculty right away. Hours with a new preceptor start only after Bradley approves them, and they still have to fall inside the semester.
