Why every quote is individual
Two Bradley students in the same track can need very different amounts of work. One needs a single primary care preceptor in a suburb full of clinics; another needs a psychiatric sub-specialty placement in a rural county with a hospital that requires its own agreement. A fixed price list would overcharge the first student or shortchange the second, so each quote is written for one plan. The same logic applies across tracks: an FNP, a PMHNP and a leadership student each need a different kind of preceptor.
Our quote covers our search and preparation work. Charges that Bradley bills, such as tuition, the Typhon fee, malpractice insurance, the background check and the clinical badge, are separate and are paid to Bradley under its own terms.
The course and the setting it requires
The biggest single factor is what the course demands. Bradley's catalog ties each practicum to a setting, and some settings have far fewer willing preceptors than others.
Hours matter as well. NUR 676 carries 100 hours, while NUR 679, NUR 658 and NUR 668 each carry 300, and a preceptor who can host a 300-hour block is harder to find than one who can take a lighter course. The per-course hours for every track are in the clinical hours planner.

How many practicums we plan
Some students come to us for one course because a preceptor fell through. Others want every practicum in their sequence planned together: the four FNP courses, the three PMHNP practicums, the four AG courses, or a DNP route that adds a practice mentor for NUR 841 to NUR 844.
Planning the full sequence at once lets your advisor look for preceptors who can host more than one course and time each search against its own packet deadline. Bradley's 2017 preceptor webinar let a preceptor be reused up to twice, so check your current clinical packet for today's rule before counting on it. Your quote shows what each course in the plan involves, so you can choose one course or the whole sequence, and add later courses when you are ready.
Where you live and train
Location shapes the search in several ways. Dense metro areas offer more practices but more competition from other students; rural areas have fewer preceptors spread over longer distances. Bradley keeps your rotations in the approved state you entered from or live in, you need an RN license active there, and Bradley's state table limits some tracks by state.
Hospital systems add their own steps. In Illinois, for example, Advocate's pages describe a three-party agreement (hospital, school and the preceptor's employer) with up to three months of lead time when the preceptor works outside Advocate, and Northwestern Medicine's north and northwest sites ask for four to eight weeks. Bradley's table keeps New York and District of Columbia students from training at home, so their searches cross a border, with the advisor's approval first. How much time is left
Bradley's cutoff for the preceptor packet is the midpoint of the semester ahead of the clinical course. A search that starts two semesters ahead can move at a normal pace and choose among several preceptors. A search that starts a few weeks before the deadline, or after it, needs concentrated outreach every day and a narrower pool of preceptors who can be approved quickly.
Early requests usually mean a simpler plan and a lower quote. If time is already short, tell us the course and the date, and see our urgent placement page for how a compressed search works. Questions Bradley students ask
Why is there no price list on this page?
Because the work varies too much from student to student for one figure to be fair. A single primary care course near a large city and a full acute care sequence in a rural county are different jobs. Your written quote lists what is included for your plan, so you can compare it on its merits.
Are Bradley's own fees part of your quote?
No. Tuition and the fees Bradley lists for online nursing students, including the Typhon fee, malpractice insurance, the background check and the nursing badge, are billed by Bradley. The costs of clearance through Viewpoint Screening fall on you under Bradley's policy and sit outside our quote as well. Our quote covers our placement work only.
Can I get a quote for just one course?
Yes. A single course, such as your next practicum or one where a preceptor withdrew, gets its own quote. Tell us the course number, the semester and your city. If you later want the rest of your sequence planned, your advisor can extend the plan from there.
Does my quote change if Bradley's hours for my track change?
It can. The adult-gerontology and PMHNP tracks moved to 750 hours in the 2026-27 catalog, and Bradley's online pages still show older figures for some tracks. We quote to the hours in your program of study; if your advisor confirms a different number, tell us and we update the plan.
