Bradley's table, read for Texas
Texas carries no footnote in the licensure table Bradley posts through its State Disclosures page, and every NP column reads meets. The table keeps one column per specialty rather than separate rows for MSN, DNP and post-master's certificate students, so each answer appears to cover all levels. Who precepts under the Texas delegation model
AANP places Texas in its restricted practice group. A Texas NP practices under a physician's delegation and supervision, keeps written protocols with that physician for an entire career, and may prescribe Schedule II drugs only in certain settings. So behind every Texas NP preceptor stands a supervising physician, and a clinic may want that physician to know a student is joining the schedule.
Bradley's standard is tighter than Texas law. The board's APRN education rule, 22 TAC 219.10, lets programs seeking Texas approval use licensed APRNs or other licensed health care professionals able to teach. Bradley's 2017 preceptor webinar, by contrast, named only NPs, MDs and DOs, with most hours under NPs. Bradley's list is the one that counts; preceptor requirements covers it, including what Bradley leaves unpublished.
The Texas Board of Nursing and out-of-state schools
Texas makes schools from other states win board approval before clinical learning starts there, but its Guideline 3.1.3, in the May 2026 revision, aims that rule at programs preparing people for a first license, from vocational nursing up to entry-level master's degrees. SARA membership does not exempt those schools. Graduate APRN and other post-licensure programs fall outside it, and Bradley's online NP students already hold RN licenses, so the roster of approved schools the board publishes is about a different kind of program.
Texas does reward some preceptors, just not the ones Bradley NP students work with. Its tuition break for preceptors (Education Code section 54.356) is reserved for Texas-resident RNs teaching in public pre-licensure programs, and Nursing Shortage Reduction Program money goes to Texas schools, not to individual clinicians. Many students start their calls with Houston Methodist, Baylor Scott & White Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center, University Health in San Antonio or Texas Health Resources, each on its own affiliation terms; none has published a Bradley process.
Your license, the compact and telehealth hours
Compact membership keeps licensing simple. Texas has been a Nurse Licensure Compact state since January 2018, so a nurse whose home base is Texas holds a multistate card that satisfies Bradley's demand for an active, unencumbered license where the site sits (license rules). The separate APRN Compact has no Texas law behind it.
Telehealth follows its own track. Bradley's handbook sends FNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP students to Telemedicine policy guidelines that live behind the MyOnline login, and PMHNP students should ask course faculty how virtual visits count before building a schedule around them. Texas FNP students also plan one trip north each fall: two days of bootcamp on the Peoria campus in October, before NUR 679.

Can I take Bradley's online PMHNP program while living in Texas?
Yes. Bradley's current state table marks the PMHNP column as meeting Texas requirements, alongside FNP and both adult-gerontology tracks. Could a PA in Texas serve as my preceptor?
Bradley says no. Its 2017 preceptor webinar excluded physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists and clinical nurse leaders, even though the Texas APRN program rule allows a wider range of licensed professionals. Possibly, if your academic advisor or the department chair hears about it before the semester starts, because Bradley's handbook treats every bordering-state rotation as a change to raise ahead of time. New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana are all compact states, so a Texas multistate license travels there.
