Bradley University NP clinicals when you live in Georgia
Bradley University's four online NP tracks all read "meets" for Georgia, so a Georgia RN can enroll in FNP, PMHNP, AGACNP or AGPCNP and train in-state. The rule to plan around is Georgia's own: its Board of Nursing wants APRN students' clinical teaching done by a nurse whose APRN authorization was issued in Georgia. Put simply, a Georgia preceptor search is an NP search.

Georgia's answers in Bradley's table
Bradley's licensure table, reached through its State Disclosures page, gives Georgia a plain "meets" in all four NP columns. Those columns name specialties, not degrees, so an MSN, BSN-to-DNP or certificate student reads the same answer.

The Georgia instructor rule, and why it points to NPs
Georgia's Board of Nursing sits within the Secretary of State's office, and its nursing-education page contains the one line that shapes every Bradley plan here: for post-licensure APRN programs, clinical instruction is to be given by a nurse who holds APRN authorization in Georgia.
Bradley's 2017 preceptor webinar welcomed MDs and DOs as well as NPs, with the larger share of hours under NPs. Georgia narrows that in practice. Build your plan on Georgia-authorized NPs in your specialty, and talk to course faculty before you pencil in a physician for any block of hours.
The same page sets a license condition for whoever teaches you. Preceptors and faculty working with Georgia students, whether face to face or electronically, need a license issued by Georgia, or a multistate one from some other compact member. No approval filing, one license condition for you
Post-licensure education, APRN programs among it, sits outside what Georgia's Board approves or oversees, so no Georgia approval stands between Bradley and your clinicals.
The condition lands on you instead. A Georgia resident logging clinical hours in Georgia through an out-of-state school holds a Georgia-issued license or a multistate one from another member of the compact. Georgia is itself a compact state, so your own multistate license covers it and also meets Bradley's license rule. Georgia has not passed the APRN Compact.
Two Georgia metros straddle a state line. Augusta's crosses into South Carolina; Columbus's crosses into Alabama. A clinic on the far side is a bordering-state rotation, which Bradley's handbook wants settled with your academic advisor or the department chair ahead of the semester.
Atlanta, the coast and the border cities
The census's Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell metro held nearly 6.5 million people in 2025. Far smaller, Savannah's counts close to 440,000, and the Georgia portions of the Augusta and Columbus metros hold roughly 430,000 and 266,000. Search lists here usually include Grady, Northside, Wellstar, Piedmont and Emory Healthcare; each sets its own terms for students, and none has a published arrangement with Bradley.
A Georgia NP weighing your request may know the state's Preceptor Tax Incentive Program, a tax credit for Georgia-licensed preceptors who give uncompensated, community-based rotations. HB 144 revised and extended it, and yearly registration begins in 2026. Credit is limited to students of Georgia programs, though, so hours with a Bradley student earn none. Questions Bradley students ask
Can a physician precept my Bradley clinical hours in Georgia?
Check before you ask one. Georgia's Board says APRN clinical instruction is given by a nurse with Georgia APRN authorization. Bradley's 2017 webinar allowed MDs and DOs alongside NPs, but in Georgia an NP-led plan sidesteps the question. Course faculty and the clinical packet for your track in MyOnline have the final word.
I live in north Georgia. Can I train at a clinic in Tennessee?
Plan on Georgia sites. Tennessee reads "does not meet" in every NP column of Bradley's table, which makes it a poor candidate for any Bradley rotation. If a different bordering state, such as Alabama or South Carolina, looks closer, raise it with your academic advisor or the department chair before the semester begins.
Will my Georgia preceptor earn the state tax credit for teaching me?
No. The program credits Georgia-licensed preceptors only for students enrolled in a Georgia school's medical, dental, NP or PA program, and Bradley is in Illinois. The state's revenue department page still shows the older terms while the AHEC page describes the HB 144 changes, so a preceptor should take credit questions to AHEC.
Do Georgia NPs practice independently of physicians?
Not fully. AANP classes Georgia as restricted, meaning NPs there need a physician's delegation or supervision, and Schedule II prescribing by NPs is capped. That does not keep a Georgia NP from precepting a Bradley student; it means the practice you join runs with a physician arrangement in the background.
