Tennessee and Bradley University's nursing programs
Tennessee is the one state where Bradley University's table marks all four online NP specialties, FNP, PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP, as not meeting licensure education requirements. None of them is a route to NP licensure in Tennessee, and Bradley does not say whether it admits Tennessee residents to them. Tennessee lawmakers have also taken aim at nursing programs based in other states.

The only state with NO in every NP column
Even the FNP, which clears 49 states in Bradley's online nursing table, reads NO here. In Bradley's legend, NO is a finding rather than a blank: Bradley has concluded the program falls short of what Tennessee asks of an education for licensure or certification.

The table carries no date, and nine states have moved from NO to YES in some columns since a March 2025 copy; Tennessee was not among them. Look at the live version on Bradley's State Disclosures page before you decide anything, and use the state disclosures guide to read the columns.
Questions a Tennessee nurse can still put to Bradley
If your goal is NP practice in Tennessee, the table steers you away from Bradley's online NP tracks. Bradley has published nothing on whether it enrolls Tennessee residents in them, so ask admissions in writing before you spend time on an application.
The two leadership degrees sit outside the table. The MSN Nursing and Healthcare Leadership and the DNP Nursing Leadership prepare nurse leaders, and Bradley's online DNP page says that degree is not built for licensure in a specific profession. The Office of Online and Distance Education can tell you whether Bradley enrolls Tennessee students in either one.
Campus study is a separate answer. The on-campus table on the same Bradley page marks Accelerated Nursing as meeting Tennessee's requirements. That program is a 15-month BSN in Peoria, with clinicals arranged by faculty; see campus BSN clinicals.
Tennessee's 2026 bill on out-of-state nursing programs
Senate Bill 2013 and House Bill 1905, known as Tennessee's Nursing Education Integrity and Oversight Act, order a two-year pause on the Board of Nursing accepting or approving applications from outside programs that seek to run in Tennessee, to enroll Tennesseans, or to send students there for clinical experience. It draws no line by program level, so APRN programs are caught along with pre-licensure and RN-to-BSN ones.
Already-approved programs stay approved, though the Board, or the Tennessee Center for Nursing Advancement, may ask them for data as detailed as preceptor rosters and placement counts. That center owes recommendations on new standards for outside programs using Tennessee preceptors or sites by June 30, 2027. A secondary source dates enactment to April 27, 2026, which official records had not confirmed at last check; separately, today's Board rules spell out no approval step for visiting programs before a placement.
Practice rules, the compact and the state's systems
Tennessee lands in AANP's restricted category: a physician must supervise NPs, and what they prescribe from Schedules II through IV, opioids above all, is capped. A compact member since January 2018, Tennessee lets its residents hold a multistate license honored across other compact states, Illinois excepted, since Illinois never joined.
Care concentrates in the Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga metros. Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and Methodist Le Bonheur in Memphis head a list of major systems that also takes in Erlanger, Covenant Health and Ballad Health. The state hospital association runs a grant-funded preceptor incentive too, with eligibility limited to learners from accredited in-state programs plus a carve-out for schools in seven nearby states, and Illinois is not one of the seven.

Can I become an NP in Tennessee through Bradley's online program?
Bradley's own table says its FNP, PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP do not meet Tennessee's educational requirements for licensure or certification, so none of them is a path to Tennessee NP licensure. If Tennessee is where you plan to practice, raise that with Bradley's admissions team before you apply.
I'm a Bradley NP student and may move to Tennessee. What should I do first?
Talk to your academic advisor or the department chair before you sign anything. Bradley wants a move to an unapproved state raised ahead of the next semester, and the table reads NO for every NP track in Tennessee. The relocation guide covers the rest of what a move sets off.
Would Tennessee's preceptor incentive cover time spent with a Bradley student?
Not as the program is written. Eligible students come from accredited Tennessee programs, or from schools in Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia or Kentucky when the hours are logged in Tennessee. Bradley, an Illinois school, sits outside that group.
Is Bradley's accelerated BSN open to Tennessee residents?
Bradley's campus table marks Accelerated Nursing as meeting Tennessee's licensure requirements. It is a full campus program in Peoria that runs 15 months, from May to the following August, with faculty arranging clinicals at Peoria-area hospitals. Admission questions go to Bradley's undergraduate admissions office.
