The board filing Delaware asks of outside schools
Delaware regulates the program, not only the student. Under 24 Del. Admin. Code 1900, a school based in another state has to tell the Board ahead of time that it plans to place students in a Delaware clinical facility. With that notice go proof of its approval or accreditation, its written agreement with each agency, its preceptor standards, every preceptor's name and assigned site, and a license copy for each of them, Delaware or compact.
Each facility also needs the Board's sign-off, based on the school's forms, before any student is placed there. The rule's reach is stated as "all nursing education programs" with no carve-out for graduate study, so how Bradley handles it for NP students sits with Bradley's Office of Online and Distance Education, keeper of its agency agreements.
The lesson is timing. Paperwork that names preceptors cannot begin until you have one, so Delaware students gain the most from settling a preceptor well before Bradley's packet deadline.
Preceptors and search areas in the First State
On AANP's practice-environment map, Delaware is full practice. Its regulations set a floor for anyone called a preceptor, a current license plus a BSN or a more advanced degree, and an online program's preceptor in a Delaware facility must hold a license or privilege at the level the student is training for, or higher. Searches here often begin with ChristianaCare, Bayhealth or Beebe Healthcare, and with Nemours Children's Health (its Delaware hospital sits in Wilmington) for pediatric time. Each keeps its own student process, and none is a site committed to Bradley. Roughly 588,000 Delawareans live in the Wilmington end of the Philadelphia metro, so students near Dover or Seaford work a smaller pool.

Your license, the compact and nearby state lines
Delaware's multistate licenses date to January 19, 2018, when the Nurse Licensure Compact took effect there. One of them satisfies Bradley's license rule for Delaware sites and carries privileges into Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland, which are compact members too.
A privilege is not a green light. Bradley's handbook wants a cross-border rotation, into an approved state or not, discussed with your advisor or the nursing chair ahead of the semester, and for PMHNP and AG students Maryland is a "does not meet" state. A Seaford student eyeing a Maryland clinic, or a Wilmington student looking toward Pennsylvania, should have that talk first.
The APRN Compact also became Delaware law, in August 2021. Only five states have passed it and it needs seven to start, so until then it has no bearing on where you train.

Can a Delaware PMHNP student train at a practice in Maryland?
Only with Bradley's sign-off, and it is uphill. Bradley's table marks Maryland "does not meet" in the psychiatric column and both geriatric columns, and any cross-border rotation needs a talk with your advisor or the nursing chair ahead of the term. A Delaware site is the cleaner plan.
Must my preceptor in Delaware be licensed by Delaware itself?
The state's rules ask outside programs to file each preceptor's current Delaware or compact license, which suggests a preceptor holding another compact state's multistate license fits the wording. Can a Nemours pediatric NP count toward my Bradley FNP hours?
Possibly, for the course that calls for children. Bradley's NUR 678 includes women's health and pediatrics within its 200 hours, and a pediatric preceptor can suit it. Course faculty approve each preceptor and site in Typhon, and Nemours runs its own student process, so treat it as one option among several.
When should a Delaware student start looking?
Early. Bradley's DocuSign packet deadline falls at midterm of the semester before your clinical course, and Delaware adds a school-side filing that names each preceptor. In 2017, Bradley's FNP webinar suggested searching roughly twelve months out.
