Bradley University's state table puts Arkansas at meets for FNP, PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP alike, so all four online NP specialties are open to you from Little Rock, the Ozarks or the Delta. The state's own paperwork looks light: nothing in the published rules of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing asks a school from elsewhere for approval just to place students in Arkansas clinics. What the Arkansas board asks of out-of-state schools
Arkansas's rules are quiet on this point. The prelicensure standards, Part 125 of Title 17 in the state's code of rules, only reach a school from another state that wants to launch a program inside Arkansas, a move that also needs the state's Division of Higher Education. For APRN programs, Subpart 10 of 17 CAR Part 123 works through deemed status tied to national accreditation. Neither describes a sign-off for a school that simply sends graduate students to Arkansas preceptors.
The published rules are all there is to go on, so raise it with Bradley's online education office, which is behind clinical agency agreements, before your first packet goes in. Arkansas's licensing exemption for students (A.C.A. 17-87-103(2)) reaches only programs the Arkansas board itself approves; a Bradley student trains on a personal RN license instead, as the RN license page explains.
Reduced practice and the Arkansas search
AANP files Arkansas under reduced practice. A physician agreement, regulated by the state, shapes one or more elements of every NP's work, and some medications are off limits outside a physician protocol, so expect your preceptor's prescribing to run through that protocol. Little Rock gives central Arkansas the widest range: UAMS Health, run by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; Baptist Health; CHI St. Vincent, part of CommonSpirit; and Arkansas Children's, the natural place to ask about the pediatric side of NUR 678. Mercy, based in St. Louis, runs hospitals in Fort Smith and in Northwest Arkansas, whose Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers metro tops 620,000 people, and Jonesboro anchors a fourth metro in the northeast. Treat all of them as search territory rather than Bradley partners.
RN-entry students hunting a community setting for NUR 407 can note that Bradley's 2017 webinar for that course counted health departments, and the Arkansas Department of Health is the state's own.
Six borders, one compact, two different answers
Arkansas's Nurse Licensure Compact membership is written into Subchapter 6 of its nursing law and began on January 19, 2018, while the separate APRN Compact has no Arkansas enactment. Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma all belong to the NLC as well, so an Arkansas multistate license is valid across every line. Bradley's table is where the borders part ways.
Tennessee, across the Mississippi River from the Delta, is marked does not meet for all four NP tracks; the Tennessee guide has more. Missouri, above the Ozarks, joined the meets column for PMHNP and the two AG tracks after March 2025, and the Fort Smith metro itself reaches into Oklahoma. Any rotation outside Arkansas, in an approved state or not, needs your academic advisor's blessing, or the department chair's, before that term starts, per the handbook.

Questions Bradley students ask
Does Arkansas make Bradley apply before I start clinicals there?
Arkansas's published nursing rules show no such step for clinical-only placements; they address out-of-state schools founding a new program in the state. Approval of your preceptor and site still runs through Bradley, and its online education office manages the agency agreement; that office can tell you if Arkansas adds anything for your course.
Is a Memphis clinic an option for a student in eastern Arkansas?
Tennessee reads does not meet for every Bradley NP track, so a Memphis site is a question for your academic advisor or the department chair, raised before the semester, rather than an option to count on. Your Arkansas multistate license would cover practice in Tennessee, but the license was never the obstacle there.
Will my Arkansas multistate license work for a rotation in Oklahoma or Missouri?
For licensing, yes: both are compact states, as is every state touching Arkansas, and Bradley's table marks both as meets for all four NP tracks. One step remains: Bradley's handbook asks you to clear any rotation outside Arkansas with your advisor, or with the chair, ahead of that semester.
Can an Arkansas physician be my Bradley preceptor?
Yes, within Bradley's limits. In its 2017 preceptor webinar Bradley accepted MDs and DOs as well as NPs, though it wanted NPs to supply most of your hours and turned away physician assistants. The current version lives in your track's MyOnline clinical packet, and course faculty sign off on each preceptor in Typhon before any hours count.
