In Bradley University's state table, New Jersey reads YES under the FNP, PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP columns, so Bradley considers each online NP specialty to meet the state's licensure education requirements. Where New Jersey stands in Bradley's table
Every NP heading in the table on Bradley's State Disclosures page carries a YES for New Jersey, with no footnote and no difference from the archived March 2025 copy. Headings follow the specialty rather than the degree, so MSN, doctoral and certificate students in a track all read the same answer. The two leadership programs are left off.

Joint protocols and who can precept you
AANP files New Jersey under reduced practice. To order medications and devices, a New Jersey NP keeps joint protocols with a collaborating physician. For your search, that means every NP preceptor you approach works with a collaborating physician, who could also supervise part of your hours, since physicians (MDs and DOs) were acceptable preceptors in Bradley's 2017 webinar, provided NPs supervised most of the hours.

A state without a placement approval step
Reading New Jersey's nursing regulations turns up no requirement that an out-of-state school ask permission, or even give notice, before placing students in New Jersey. The first subchapter of Title 13, chapter 37 of the state's administrative code governs accreditation for programs at institutions licensed through New Jersey's higher education system, and its section 1.10(c) addresses New Jersey schools that send students to agencies elsewhere.
One caveat: the Board's website answered with a security screen, so any guidance posted there went unread and this rests on the regulations alone. Bradley's Office of Online and Distance Education, the office behind its agency agreements, can confirm nothing else applies.
In practice the gatekeepers are the facilities. Every site needs Bradley's approval and a clinical agency agreement, and some large systems run their own student-request process, as the Illinois examples on sites with their own processes show.
Where New Jersey NP students look
Census figures place about 7.1 million people from New Jersey inside the New York City and Newark metro area, and some 1.4 million inside Philadelphia and Camden's. Trenton-Princeton and Atlantic City-Hammonton form smaller metros of their own.
Start with the large systems: Hackensack Meridian Health is one, RWJBarnabas Health another. Virtua Health, Atlantic Health System and Camden's Cooper University Health Care complete the short list. Bradley publishes no list of partner systems, so each of these is a lead for your search, not a site known to host Bradley students.
Your license, the compact and the neighbors
New Jersey's compact participation began on November 15, 2021, and a multistate license issued with New Jersey as your primary state covers New Jersey hours. A nurse licensed only in Illinois, which remains outside the compact, needs New Jersey's own license first, as the license page explains.
Neighbors differ. Pennsylvania's compact membership took effect on July 7, 2025, and Delaware has been in since 2018, so a multistate license may reach a Philadelphia or Wilmington practice; New York is not a compact state. Any clinical across a state line still needs your advisor's approval before the semester. Bradley's footnote keeps New York students from clinicals in New York, and the table is silent on a New Jersey resident training there, so ask before chasing a Manhattan preceptor.

Questions Bradley students ask
Can I live in New Jersey and enroll in Bradley's online PMHNP?
Bradley's table reads meets for New Jersey in the PMHNP column, as it does for FNP and both AG tracks. Bradley's catalog still asks anyone applying from outside Illinois to confirm it can offer online study in their state, so settle that with admissions, and have a few possible preceptors ready to name, since NP applications ask for them.
Does my New Jersey multistate license cover clinicals in Pennsylvania?
As a license matter, yes: Pennsylvania has honored multistate privileges since its compact start in July 2025. Bradley adds its own gate: cross-border hours need a conversation with your advisor or the chair of nursing before that term, since state approval, site agreements and liability coverage all bear on them.
Can a physician precept me in New Jersey?
Bradley's 2017 preceptor webinar listed MDs and DOs among acceptable preceptors, alongside NPs, but asked that most practicum hours be with NPs. The current rule for your track is in its clinical packet in MyOnline, so check it before asking a collaborating physician to sign.
Could my Bradley clinicals be across the Hudson in New York City?
Only after talking with your advisor. New York sits outside the compact, so a New York RN license would be required, and Bradley's footnote bars New York students from clinicals in New York without saying how it treats commuters from New Jersey. Raise it before the semester, well ahead of any packet.
