Bradley University online NP clinicals in Michigan
Michigan reads YES in all four NP columns of Bradley University's state table, and no Michigan rule was found that makes out-of-state schools register clinical placements. Michigan never entered the nurse compact, which makes the license answer blunt: to train in Michigan, hold Michigan's own RN license.

Michigan on Bradley's online nursing table
One document, reached through Bradley's State Disclosures page, answers the licensure question for every state. Michigan's row carries no footnote, unlike Ohio's, where Bradley adds a pharmacology and continuing-education note (see the Ohio guide).

What Michigan asks of schools from elsewhere
Very little, as far as the published record goes. The Board's approval rules begin at R 338.10301 of the Michigan Administrative Code and, like its education web page, concern schools physically in Michigan. For graduates seeking a license, Michigan relies on a national accreditor (ACEN, CNEA or CCNE) rather than its own Board to vouch for a school from another state, and Bradley's graduate programs are CCNE-accredited (details).
That finding comes from the Board's rules and web pages; the Board itself was not asked. If a Michigan site raises state approval, pass the question to Bradley's Office of Online and Distance Education, which runs the agency agreements.
Precepting under Michigan's restricted practice rules
In AANP's terms Michigan is restricted: controlled-substance prescriptions written by an NP need a physician's delegation. Who Bradley accepts as your preceptor does not change (requirements), but in a Michigan practice that part of care runs through a delegating physician, which is useful to understand before your first visit.
Michigan's NP specialty certification has two prerequisites, a current Michigan RN license and national certification from a certifying body on the Board's recognized list. When you collect a Michigan NP's papers for the preceptor packet, that state specialty certification belongs on the checklist next to the license.
The state once tested preceptor incentives. MSU's nursing college partnered with the Office of Nursing Programs at MDHHS on a pilot offering incentives to people precepting MSU's FNP and PMHNP students. That pilot is over and never extended to other schools, and Michigan has no enacted preceptor tax credit on record.
Where Michigan NP students look
Metro Detroit (the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn area) is Michigan's biggest market by a wide margin, and Grand Rapids-Wyoming-Kentwood is second, ahead of Lansing-East Lansing and Flint. Corewell Health and Henry Ford Health are two of the large systems; McLaren Health Care, Trinity Health Michigan and Michigan Medicine, formally University of Michigan Health, are three more. Use them to orient a search; appearing here does not mean any of them hosts Bradley students. Independent practices and clinics count just as much, provided Bradley approves the site.
Licensing: Michigan stays outside the compact
Michigan is a non-compact state, and a bill to change that, HB 4246, is listed as pending on NCSBN's map. A multistate license from Indiana or Wisconsin therefore has no force in Michigan, and a Michigan license carries no multistate privilege anywhere else. Under Bradley's rule (license page), Michigan clinicals mean a Michigan RN license.
If you still need one, three prerequisites come with the application: a criminal background check, one-time training in identifying victims of human trafficking, and implicit bias training (two hours, done within five years of issue). Put those on the calendar well ahead of any packet deadline.

Is Bradley's online PMHNP open to Michigan nurses?
On Bradley's table, yes: Michigan is YES for PMHNP and the other three NP columns. The 2026-27 catalog lists 750 clinical hours for the track, though Bradley's online page calls the 150 hours in NUR 684 preceptor hours where the catalog calls them simulation. Your academic advisor can say which applies to your cohort; the MSN PMHNP page has the course list.
My RN license is from Indiana. Does it work for Michigan clinicals?
Not by itself. An Indiana multistate license travels only to compact states, and Michigan is not one, so Michigan clinicals call for a Michigan RN license. Budget time for Michigan's background check and its two training requirements. A rotation outside your approved state also needs your advisor's sign-off before the semester.
Must Michigan's Board approve Bradley before my clinicals start?
No rule requiring that was found. Michigan's approval rules speak to schools inside the state, and schools elsewhere earn recognition through their national accreditor, which for Bradley is CCNE. Your site may still want a signed agency agreement with Bradley, which the Office of Online and Distance Education handles.
Is there a Michigan incentive for preceptors of Bradley students?
None was found. The state's pilot was limited to people precepting MSU students and is over, and no state tax credit for preceptors was located.
