All four NP columns read YES for Indiana in the online nursing table on Bradley's State Disclosures page. Indiana needed no change: it already read YES across the board in the March 2025 archived copy. Bradley's graduate catalog, in its section on online programs, also states that Bradley is authorized by the Indiana Board of Proprietary Education.

A nursing board that leaves graduate programs alone
Indiana's State Board of Nursing works within the state's Professional Licensing Agency, and its accrediting role covers Indiana schools that train students toward an initial RN or LPN license. The board says in plain terms that it neither reviews nor accredits RN-BSN or graduate nursing programs, and the eligibility rule it relies on, 848 IAC 1-2-4, addresses pre-licensure schools alone.
The state research behind this page turned up no board approval a graduate school from elsewhere must obtain before its students train at Indiana sites. What governs you is Bradley's own framework: rotations in the approved state tied to your admission or home, a license for Indiana that is active and clear of encumbrance, and Bradley's approval of the preceptor and facility through the DocuSign packet.
Collaborating NPs and where Indiana students search
Indiana sits in the AANP's reduced practice group. Every Indiana NP holds a regulated collaborative agreement with a physician, which must cover one or more elements of the NP's practice. Bradley's published preceptor rules never ask about that agreement, so an Indiana NP in the right role and setting, with a clean license, is a candidate on the same terms as anyone; preceptor requirements has the list.
Indianapolis is the largest market, where Indiana University Health sits alongside Ascension St. Vincent and Community Health Network. Franciscan Health reaches across the northwest, Parkview Health is centered on Fort Wayne, and southern Indiana forms part of the Louisville metro. None has a published Bradley tie, and independent practices and community clinics fill in around them. For FNP students, the October bootcamp in Peoria sits about three hours from Indianapolis, by Bradley's own description of its location.
Northwest Indiana, Chicago and the compact
Indiana's compact membership began on July 1, 2020, later than Illinois' other compact neighbors. Indiana residents can carry a multistate license covering Indiana and the other compact states, but it has no force in Illinois, which licenses nurses through IDFPR.
The Chicago edge is where that matters most. About 729,000 residents of the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metro live on the Indiana side in 2025 Census estimates. A Northwest Indiana nurse who works at a Chicago hospital needs an Illinois license to train there; a Chicago-area resident drawn to an Indiana practice needs Indiana's single-state license, since Illinois residents cannot hold a multistate one. Is Bradley authorized to offer online nursing programs in Indiana?
Bradley's graduate catalog says the university is authorized by the Indiana Board of Proprietary Education, and Bradley's table puts Indiana in the meets column for each NP specialty. Bradley is also a SARA member. The leadership programs are not in the table, so leadership students should ask Bradley directly.
Must Indiana's nursing board approve Bradley before I train there?
Not by the board's own account. Its accrediting covers Indiana schools leading to an initial RN or LPN license, graduate programs sit outside its review, and our state research found no approval step for a graduate school from another state sending students to Indiana sites. Bradley still approves each preceptor and site, and the facility's agreement runs through Bradley.
Will an Indiana multistate license cover Bradley clinicals in Chicago?
No. Illinois never joined the compact, so the privilege an Indiana multistate license carries ends at the state line. Training in Chicago takes an Illinois RN license issued by IDFPR, and because the rotation crosses a state line, Bradley's handbook asks you to put it to your advisor or the chair of nursing before the term starts.
Does an Indiana NP need a physician present to precept me?
No. Indiana's collaborative agreement governs the NP's own practice, not your clinical day, and Bradley judges a preceptor by role, practice setting and license standing. Bradley's 2017 webinar wanted most of an NP student's hours spent with NPs, so an Indiana NP can carry most of a course. Check your clinical packet for current wording.
