Idaho RNs in Bradley University's online NP tracks
Idaho is open to all four of Bradley University's online NP specialties. FNP already read "meets" in a March 2025 copy of Bradley's state table, which still showed PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP as "does not meet"; all three have since joined it. If you shelved Bradley over that older answer, it is worth a second look, with a few Idaho rules to plan around.

Idaho's row now, and the 2025 change
The table Bradley links from its State Disclosures page has no date, so the comparison comes from an archived copy dated March 28, 2025. Set side by side, Idaho's mental health and both geriatric columns moved from NO to YES, while the FNP column stayed put.

Idaho was one of nine states to make that jump. Washington and Oregon did too, although Oregon's acute care column already read YES. Because the table can change without notice, check it again before you apply; the state disclosures page explains how it reads.
How Idaho law treats an APRN student from elsewhere
Idaho's rules on approving nursing programs cover schools operating inside the state and say nothing specific about placements by schools based elsewhere. The Board of Nursing, housed in DOPL, points out-of-state and online schools to its licensing staff for requirements, a conversation that belongs to Bradley rather than to you.
The Idaho rule that touches you directly sits in the Board's APRN section. An RN allowed to practice in Idaho, by an Idaho license or a compact privilege, can function as an APRN while enrolled in a nationally accredited APRN program when that work is built into the curriculum. Bradley's graduate nursing programs hold CCNE accreditation, which appears to satisfy that condition. Idaho's Nurse Practice Act also carves out an exemption for students of approved programs doing work that belongs to their instruction.
Preceptor level and where Idaho students search
Idaho's Board adopted an education policy in April 2024 that sets a floor for preceptors in every program: a preceptor must hold a license at least equal to the one you are studying for. For a Bradley NP student the natural fit is an APRN, in step with Bradley's own preference for NP preceptors (who can precept you). The policy's faculty licensing clauses are Bradley's business, not yours. AANP counts Idaho among the full practice states.
Boise's metro, about 864,000 people, is the largest pool. Idaho's larger systems include St. Luke's and Saint Alphonsus, and in the north Kootenai Health, based in the Coeur d'Alene metro of some 192,000; Idaho Falls and Twin Falls, at roughly 174,000 and 124,000, round out the list. None of these systems has a published arrangement with Bradley, and each sets its own student terms. NUR 407 students can approach Health and Welfare, Idaho's state health department, among other community settings.
Compact lines on Idaho's borders
Idaho's compact membership goes back to January 2018, and a multistate license issued at home meets Bradley's license rule for Idaho sites. Around Idaho the map is mixed: Washington, Montana, Utah and Wyoming belong to the compact, while Oregon and Nevada do not, so an Idaho multistate license stops at those two lines.
Crossing any border for a rotation needs Bradley's blessing first. The handbook asks you to raise a bordering-state plan with your academic advisor or the department chair before the semester, approved state or not. For a Boise-area student eyeing an Oregon clinic, that also means an Oregon license; for a north Idaho student looking into Washington, the compact covers the license but not the approval.

Questions Bradley students ask
An older source said Bradley's PMHNP was closed to Idaho residents. Is that still right?
Not by Bradley's current table. An archived copy from March 2025 showed PMHNP and both AG tracks as "does not meet" for Idaho, but the version Bradley links today reads "meets" in all four NP columns. Because the table carries no date, confirm with Bradley admissions as you apply.
Can I use my Idaho multistate license for a Bradley rotation in Oregon?
No. Oregon is outside the Nurse Licensure Compact, so Idaho's multistate license gives you no privilege there, and Bradley wants a license from the state where the clinical course happens. You would need an Oregon RN license plus a green light from your academic advisor or the department chair before the semester.
Does Idaho require my preceptor to be an NP?
Idaho's 2024 policy asks for a preceptor whose license matches or exceeds the one you are training for. Bradley's 2017 webinar accepted NPs, MDs and DOs, with most hours under NPs. A physician's license arguably clears Idaho's bar, but course faculty approve each preceptor, so confirm before you build a plan around one.
Does Idaho offer a tax credit or other incentive for preceptors?
No Idaho preceptor incentive turned up in our research. Some states run credits, such as Georgia and Hawaii, but those limit eligibility to students of in-state programs anyway, so a Bradley rotation would not qualify there either.
