Oregon clinicals for Bradley University NP students
Oregon reads YES for every Bradley University online NP specialty, and two of those answers are new: the psychiatric and adult-gerontology primary care columns flipped from NO after March 2025. Oregon's board stopped asking out-of-state NP programs for permission years ago, but Oregon never signed on to the multistate licensing system, so clinicals there run on an Oregon RN license.

How Oregon's row changed
Bradley University's online nursing licensure table now shows YES in all four NP columns for Oregon. Compared with an archived copy of the same document from March 28, 2025, two cells moved: PSY/MENTAL HEALTH and GERIATRIC - PRIMARY went from NO to YES. The acute care and family columns already said YES back then, which makes Oregon the one state in that group of nine whose acute care answer never needed to change.

OSBN and out-of-state NP programs
Oregon used to be one of the strict states. Its old requirement lived in division 50 of OAR chapter 851: NP students enrolled in graduate programs based elsewhere needed Board authorization before starting clinical practicums in Oregon. That requirement ended with its repeal, effective July 1, 2021, and the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN), in its frequently asked questions for APRNs, now answers the placement question with a plain no.
The yearly notice OSBN still collects, one form for each track, is aimed at pre-licensure PN and RN programs, and the Board spells out that advanced practice programs are exempt. Two expectations remain. Faculty who teach in Oregon must be licensed there, and before a school enrolls Oregon residents it needs authorization from HECC, the state's higher education commission, or through NC-SARA. Bradley belongs to SARA; how faculty licensing is handled for your course is a question for the Office of Online and Distance Education.

Close to two million Oregonians live in the Oregon counties of the Portland metro, and Salem, Eugene-Springfield and Bend follow. Among the larger systems are OHSU and Legacy Health, Providence Oregon, part of a Renton, Washington-based system, Kaiser Permanente's Northwest region, covering Oregon plus the southwest corner of Washington, and Samaritan Health Services. Each has its own way of taking students, so this is a list of doors to knock on, not of Bradley sites.
Licensing: an Oregon license, and the Washington line
Oregon has never joined the Nurse Licensure Compact, and nothing is pending there on NCSBN's map. An Oregon RN license is single-state: it meets Bradley's requirement for Oregon clinicals, explained on the RN license page, and reaches no further.
That matters most around Portland, whose metro runs north into Vancouver, Washington. A Washington clinic is a bordering-state rotation, which the handbook sends to your academic advisor or the department chair before the semester, and it needs Washington licensure. Washington's compact membership began January 31, 2024; even so, multistate licenses are issued only to residents of member states, so an Oregonian would hold a Washington single-state license. FNP students also plan one trip east each October for the two-day bootcamp on Bradley's Peoria campus, which comes before NUR 679.

Can Oregon residents take Bradley's online PMHNP track now?
Bradley's current table answers YES for Oregon in the psychiatric column, a change from the NO in the March 2025 copy. The table speaks to licensure education requirements, so confirm with Bradley's admissions team that your start term is open to Oregon residents, then plan mental health preceptors for NUR 685 through NUR 687, as the MSN PMHNP page describes.
Will my multistate license from another state cover Oregon clinicals?
No. Oregon has no compact membership, so multistate licenses from Idaho, Washington or other member states give you no right to practice there. Apply to the Oregon State Board of Nursing for an Oregon RN license well before your first Oregon practicum, since Bradley checks licensure against the state where the clinic sits.
Does the Oregon board have to approve my preceptor?
OSBN asks for no approval when a program based in another state places APRN students in Oregon. The approvals that count come from Bradley: the university signs off on the preceptor and the facility after the DocuSign packet, and course faculty approve the preceptor and agency entry in Typhon.
Can I complete AGACNP hospital hours in Oregon?
Yes. The acute care column read YES for Oregon even before 2025. The 2026-27 course list puts 750 hours across NUR 655 through NUR 658, and the newer on-site skills bootcamp comes before NUR 658. The AGACNP program page has the course-by-course detail.
