Bradley University's NP tracks for Colorado residents
Colorado keeps things fairly simple for a Bradley University online NP student. Bradley's state table marks the FNP, PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP as meeting Colorado's licensure education requirements, the nursing board's program rules speak only to pre-licensure schools, and compact membership lets a resident train on a multistate license. What is distinctly Colorado is a mentorship rule for new NPs and a preceptor tax credit reserved for Colorado schools.

Colorado's answers in Bradley's table
Colorado's row in Bradley's online nursing table, found via the State Disclosures page, is as plain as they come: four meets answers, no footnote, identical to a March 2025 archive. Its columns are specialties rather than degrees, so the answer reads the same whether you are an MSN, BSN-to-DNP or post-master's certificate student.

Those totals are the 2026-27 course sums. Bradley's online pages still show 600 for the AG tracks, and the catalog's FNP program text says 700, as the clinical hours page sets out.
The Colorado board and out-of-state graduate programs
Colorado's nursing board, housed in the Department of Regulatory Agencies, approves schools under Rule 1.2 of 3 CCR 716-1, and that rule is about basic programs leading someone to a first RN or LPN credential. Graduate schools elsewhere that send licensed nurses into Colorado clinics get no approval or notice duty in its text.
Board guidance outside the rules may say more, so let Bradley's online education office, the one that manages site agreements, confirm the Colorado picture. The Colorado student permit is irrelevant to you: it covers nontraditional programs based outside Colorado, ones lacking faculty-supervised clinicals, whose students or graduates need Colorado hours to earn a first license. Your RN license carries your clinicals, per Bradley's license rule.
Full practice with a mentorship condition
AANP rates Colorado full practice, but prescribing comes with an apprenticeship of sorts: to hold prescriptive authority, a newly certified NP first logs 750 hours of experience with a physician or APRN mentor under a formal agreement, then attests to them. The matching number is a coincidence. Colorado's 750 hours come after graduation, while Bradley's 750 are the clinical hours in your NP course list.
So a recently licensed Colorado NP might still be working through those mentored hours when you ask. Bradley sets no published experience minimum for preceptors; your track's clinical packet or course faculty will say whether such an NP qualifies, and preceptor requirements covers the rest of Bradley's standard.
Where Colorado students look, and the tax credit
Most searches begin along the Front Range. The Denver-Aurora-Centennial metro, past 3 million residents, holds UCHealth, Denver Health, HCA HealthONE and CommonSpirit Health's hospitals, while Intermountain Health, based in Utah, operates Denver's Saint Joseph Hospital. Farther out, look to Colorado Springs, then Fort Collins-Loveland and Greeley. These illustrate the landscape; none is presented as a Bradley partner.
A Colorado tax break exists for unpaid preceptors in rural and frontier shortage areas of the state. Under HB22-1005 in 2022, RNs and other licensed outpatient professionals joined the eligible list, the yearly limit became 300 preceptors, and the credit was extended to tax years starting before 2033. Yet the bill also made the student's school matter: only accredited Colorado colleges and universities count, so a Bradley rotation earns nothing.
Licensing, and seven compact neighbors
Colorado's membership in the Nurse Licensure Compact began January 19, 2018. A Colorado resident's multistate license therefore works for clinicals at home; the APRN Compact has no Colorado enactment. Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona, which meets Colorado at the Four Corners, are compact members too, and all seven read meets in Bradley's four NP columns; Nebraska and Arizona got there for PMHNP and the AG tracks only after March 2025. An easy license does not skip the handbook step, though: a rotation across any of those lines must be cleared with your academic advisor, or the chair, ahead of that term.

Does Colorado require Bradley to register before my clinicals?
Colorado's program-approval rule is written for basic pre-licensure programs and places no approval or notice duty on graduate schools based in other states. Your preceptor and site still need Bradley's approval, and the agency agreement still runs through Bradley's online education office, which is where to take any Colorado-specific question.
Can a Colorado NP still in the 750-hour mentorship precept me?
Colorado's rule is about the NP's own prescribing, not about teaching students, and Bradley's public documents set no years-of-practice floor for preceptors. Before you settle on a newly licensed NP, read the MyOnline clinical packet for your track or ask course faculty, because Bradley signs off on every preceptor and facility.
Will Colorado's preceptor tax credit apply to my preceptor?
Probably not. Under HB22-1005, Colorado's rural and frontier credit counts only preceptors whose students come from accredited Colorado schools, and Bradley is an Illinois university. A rural preceptor who also teaches students from Colorado programs may already claim it for those rotations, so the credit could come up when you call.
Is a Wyoming or New Mexico site possible for a Colorado student?
Both are compact states, so a Colorado multistate license would cover the practice, and both read meets across Bradley's NP columns. Bradley's handbook still asks you to raise a cross-border rotation with your advisor or the chair before the term begins, so get that agreement before a preceptor signs anything for you.
