Bradley University NP clinicals in North Dakota
Bradley University's state table marks all four of its online nurse practitioner specialties as meeting North Dakota's education requirements, so FNP, PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP students can plan clinicals anywhere from Fargo to Minot. The state's twist is its board, which keeps a semester-by-semester roster of the students, sites and preceptors that distance programs bring in, and that rewards a preceptor confirmed early.

North Dakota in Bradley's licensure table
Every NP column in Bradley's online nursing table reads YES for North Dakota, with no footnote beside it. In Bradley's legend, a YES is the university's own judgment that the program satisfies the state's education standard for a license or certification, whether directly or by reciprocity.

NDBON's semester roster for distance programs
The North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) is unusually direct about distance programs. Its recognition process applies whenever a distance school puts students into a North Dakota facility, advanced practice students included, so a Bradley NP track falls inside it. The school asks for recognition 60 days before students arrive, and among the papers the board wants is proof of NC-SARA participation, which Bradley has as a SARA member.
Before each semester's clinical activity, the program reports who is coming and with which North Dakota or multistate license, the sites and courses, the supervising preceptors and faculty with their resumes and licenses, the signed site agreements, and each facility's word that it has room.
The filing belongs to the school, not to you. Bradley's public pages are silent on how it handles North Dakota, so ask the Office of Online and Distance Education how early it needs your preceptor's details.

Where North Dakota NP students look
In AANP's ranking, North Dakota gives NPs full practice authority, so they diagnose and prescribe with no physician agreement required. That works in your favor, since Bradley's 2017 preceptor webinar asked that NPs supervise the bulk of your hours; see who can precept you for the whole standard.
Four metros hold most of the options. In Fargo, students ask at Sanford Health's Broadway Medical Center and at Essentia Health, whose footprint also covers Minnesota and Wisconsin. Bismarck offers Sanford's medical center there plus CHI St. Alexius Health, a CommonSpirit hospital. Altru anchors Grand Forks, and Trinity Health anchors Minot. Each runs its own student intake, so the list is a map of where to ask, not a roster of Bradley sites.
Your license and the Minnesota side of the metros
North Dakota's multistate licenses date to January 19, 2018, the day the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact took effect. If North Dakota is your primary residence, your multistate license settles Bradley's licensing test for clinicals at home; the RN license page lays out that test.
Fargo and Grand Forks both share their metro areas with Minnesota, and roughly 202,000 of the Fargo area's 270,000 people live on the North Dakota side. Minnesota has not joined the compact, and NCSBN shows nothing pending there, so a clinic across that line calls for a Minnesota RN license. The handbook also routes any rotation in a bordering state through your academic advisor or the department chair ahead of the term. South Dakota and Montana, by contrast, are compact states.
The APRN Compact is on North Dakota's books too, enacted in 2021, but it only switches on after a seventh state signs, and five have, so student clinicals are untouched by it.

Can I study Bradley's online PMHNP program from North Dakota?
Yes, going by Bradley's current table, which gives North Dakota a YES in the psychiatric column. The clinical sequence opens with NUR 684, whose 150 hours the 2026-27 catalog calls simulation, then moves to three practicums in mental health settings, NUR 685 through NUR 687. Does North Dakota require Bradley to hold state approval before I train there?
North Dakota's nurse practices act looks for an out-of-state program to carry approval from the nursing board of its headquarters state, and NDBON layers its own recognition step on top for distance programs. Bradley's public material does not state where it stands in North Dakota, so raise it with your academic advisor before a preceptor signs anything.
I live in South Dakota. Can I do Bradley clinicals in Fargo?
A South Dakota multistate license already lets you practice in North Dakota, so licensing is the easy part. Bradley's handbook, though, expects clinicals in the approved state you call home, so a Fargo site needs a conversation with your advisor or the department chair well before that semester begins.
Does North Dakota offer preceptors a tax credit or incentive?
