Connecticut nurses in Bradley University's NP programs
Connecticut now gets a meets answer in all four online NP columns of Bradley University's state table; for PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP that replaces the does not meet answers in a March 2025 copy. Connecticut moved as well: since October 1, 2025 it has been a Nurse Licensure Compact state, a shift that changes how a resident's RN license works near the New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island lines.

Connecticut's row, before and after 2025
Bradley's online nursing licensure table hangs off its State Disclosures page. Connecticut's current row is a full set of meets with no footnote. An archived copy from March 28, 2025 told a different story in three columns, and of the nine states that have since moved to meets for PMHNP and the AG tracks, Connecticut is the only one in New England.

A compact state since October 2025
The October 2025 start is confirmed by Connecticut's Department of Public Health. Its guidance lets an RN student practice in Connecticut on either kind of license: one Connecticut issues, or a multistate license that the student's compact home state issued. A Connecticut resident can now hold a multistate license issued at home, and either form satisfies Bradley's rule for Connecticut clinicals; the RN license page has Bradley's wording.
The neighbors are uneven. Rhode Island has been a compact member since January 8, 2024, Massachusetts enacted the compact in November 2024 with implementation targeted for May 2027, and New York has no compact legislation pending. A multistate license therefore reaches a Rhode Island practice but not, for now, one in Massachusetts or New York.
Bradley's table adds a New York wrinkle: its footnote keeps New York students from clinical rotations or DNP projects inside New York. That footnote concerns New York residents; the New York guide explains it.
Connecticut's clinical regulations, and how far they reach
Connecticut's Board of Examiners for Nursing works inside the state health department, and its regulations say little about schools from other states placing licensed nurses. These sections come closest.

Read together, these sections are aimed at schools preparing nurses for a first license, and none of them names APRN programs. Whether any piece shapes a Bradley NP placement is worth asking the Bradley office that manages clinical agency agreements.
Practice rules and where Connecticut students look
AANP lists Connecticut as full practice, with a waiting period: three years and 2,000 hours of physician collaboration come first. Bradley publishes no minimum experience for preceptors, so if you are weighing a newer NP, the clinical packet for your track or course faculty will settle it; the broader standard is on preceptor requirements.
Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford is the largest metro, and Hartford HealthCare and UConn Health both work there. In New Haven, start with Yale New Haven Health; Trinity Health Of New England is a further system to research. Northwell Health, headquartered in New York, took over western Connecticut's former Nuvance hospitals, including Danbury Hospital, in the Bridgeport-Stamford-Danbury metro, and Waterbury-Shelton completes the four metros. Can Connecticut residents now apply to Bradley's PMHNP or AG tracks?
Bradley's current table marks PMHNP, AGACNP and AGPCNP as meeting Connecticut's requirements, a change from a March 2025 copy that said does not meet. The table is undated, and Bradley asks applicants outside Illinois to confirm it offers the program in their state, so check with admissions before applying.
Does Connecticut's compact membership let me train in New York or Massachusetts?
No. Your multistate license stops at the New York line, and Massachusetts has yet to implement the compact, so either state would need its own RN license; Rhode Island is where it works. Any rotation across a state line also needs your academic advisor's or the department chair's approval before the semester, under Bradley's handbook.
Does Connecticut require my preceptor to have two years of experience?
Connecticut's rule for preceptors of advanced-level students asks for two years in the role or specialty and a nursing bachelor's degree, yet its chapter is aimed at schools that prepare nurses for initial licensure and never mentions APRN programs. Bradley publishes no experience minimum; your track's clinical packet in MyOnline is the place to check.
Must Bradley notify Connecticut before I start clinicals?
Nothing in Connecticut's nursing regulations describes a filing: a program approved at home counts as approved when its standards match Connecticut's, and the chapter centers on pre-licensure schools anyway. Bradley itself approves your preceptor and site, and its Office of Online and Distance Education is the place for Connecticut-specific questions.
